magage bids

Bid Management

Bids are submitted from approved carriers filtered by equipment type and geography to offer capacity solutions. U Route is not a load board. Carriers that you have already accepted and approved as core carriers are authorized to bid on each opportunity. Bids are organized and easily accessible for shippers to make sound decisions quickly and accurately. U Route eliminates tedious unnecessary duplications. Create one opportunity for all applicable network carriers to preview and bid simultaneously. Carrier responses come back in a uniform format. U Route will save time normally spent sifting through emails, logging on to carrier websites, and responding to voicemails.

Real Time Tracking

Running a tight ship means that products are where they need to be, when they need to be there. The only way to follow this dynamic variable is to know where your product is right now, who has it and when it will be delivered. U Route allows carriers to submit transit updates through three methods. 1. Dispatchers can enter status updates directly into the U Route portal. 2. Drivers can provide real-time status updates from their smartphones, 3. EDI (electronic data interchange). U Route provides easy to follow light indicators so transportation managers can easily pin point shipments that need immediate attention.

Communication

U Route uses its proprietary messaging system to thread communications between shippers and carriers. Messages that are entered into U Route are attached to each shipment and RFQ. Never again delete an important email related to a claim, accident or service failure. In logistics, errors can sometimes arise months after shipments are delivered. With U Route simply pull up the shipment history and have access to everything. It's all there and nothing is ever lost.

Strong Reports

U Route breaks down the cost of transportation by using filters that cater to each individual user. Users can look at specific periods of time, equipment types or shipment categories in any unique configuration. For example, shippers can look at their dry van pricing history in specific lanes, during the last quarter. Drilling down to this level provides shippers with specific insights on how and where to make critical procurement adjustments. With data supplied by U Route generated reports, shippers can make logical decisions based on factual data to save money.

Carrier Management

Transportation professionals forecasting the future condition of truck capacity in the U.S., overwhelming agree that truck capacity is going to tighten. This imposes two primary adverse effects on your supply chain. First, rates will rise. Second, an inability to secure trucks in a timely manner. There is a fine balance between rate negotiation and reliable capacity. U Route makes the carrier on-boarding process less arduous. Within U Route carriers can be vetted for size, geography and safety. Ultimately, adding or removing carriers is the shipper's decision, but U Route works to streamline that process. With U Route's carrier management reports, know which carriers you use and how much you use them. Nothing is more valuable than good information. Know how many loads you have tendered to a carrier during a specific period of time at what rate and in what lanes. Be able to understand the percentage of the freight each carrier receives from your company and what roll each carrier plays in your overall supply chain. This is fundamental carrier management, but it is often neglected.

RFQ

RFQ Development

RFQ deadlines, fuel surcharges, contracts and other pertinent documents can be presented in U Route's organized and web accessible RFQ tool. Forecasting your annual logistics expense will enable your company to make valid capital allocation decisions. Capturing annual pricing allows for simple year over year comparisons to analyze price changes. Price comparisons also assist in determining carrier vendor relationships. Carriers are provided all the necessary information to submit accurate RFQ responses. Each lane can be analyzed by carriers for bid type, cargo commodity, weight, equipment, load procedures, mileage and OD pairs.
